Mathematically, angular velocity is calculated as the change in angular displacement divided by the change in time:

- Δt is the change in time
The standard unit for angular velocity in the International System of Units (SI) is radians per second (rad/s). It represents the rate of change of angular displacement in radians with respect to time in seconds.
Other units, such as degrees per second (°/s) or revolutions per minute (RPM), can also be used to express angular velocity, but radians per second is the standard unit used in scientific and engineering applications.
